Julie Lin & Helen Cross: Cookery Demo

Julie Lin’s entry to the professional food world came after she was runner-up on BBC Masterchef. Initially owner of a successful street food stall, she opened the Michelin-recommended Julie’s Kopitiam, followed by Ga Ga, recently recognised as the ‘Best Restaurant in Scotland’. Julie champions the food of her Malaysian, Chinese and Scottish heritage. At the age of 25 she began her journey into TV and radio, co-hosting STV's Julie and Jimmy's Hot Woks with Jimmy Lee. Since then she has worked with The Hairy Bikers, was a presenter on BBC's Coast to Coast Food Festival and has appeared on BBC's Saturday Kitchen Live. She has written for several publications including The Guardian, Courier Magazine, The Observer, BBC Food and Vice. 

Helen Cross, originally from Stranraer, is a podcaster, story teller, and gardening and food writer. Her recently published book Grow Cook Inspire invites people to introduce the magic of growing their own and cooking seasonally into their daily lives, while also igniting a passion amongst children, to last a lifetime.
